Founder and Director
Pura Crespo
felt called to the prison ministry more than 20 years ago. Her mission has
been to teach the incarcerated that there is life beyond prison walls, to
share with them the love of Jesus and to bring encouragement and hope to
their broken lives. Pura is an ordained minister, has been certified as a
teacher/mentor with Prison Fellowship Ministries and holds an associate
degree in Christian Ministerial Studies through the Raleigh Institute
of Biblical Studies. She also ministers at the North Carolina Correctional
Institution for Women in Raleigh.
If there was anyone gifted
and anointed by God to do this sort of work, it is Pura.

We
do not need to be in a physical prison to feel
incarcerated. Many times we
have hostages and
captives
in our hearts that allow the devil to rob our peace and joy. But Jesus
says He came that we should receive life in abundance. Let me
encourage you to set YOUR captives free.
Open your heart and forgive all offenses and offenders. Allow the Lord to
heal your broken heart. Jesus loves you and has a plan for your life.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares
the
LORD, plans
for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Then you will call upon me and
come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will
seek me and find me, when you seek me with
all your heart. I will be found by you,
declares the LORD, and I will restore your
fortunes and gather you from all the
nations and all the places where I have
driven you, declares the LORD, and I will bring
you back to the place from which I sent you into
exile.”
